1600 Wheel Balancer Demo
The Coats 1600 Wheel Balancer is designed to provide precision balancing with no compromises. Equipped with ProBalance technology, it ensures a performance balance the first time, every time. This advanced balancer features a direct drive system, an intuitive interface, and easy-to-use functionalities, making it an essential tool for any professional automotive workshop.
Key Features of Coats 1600 Wheel Balancer
The Coats 1600 Wheel Balancer comes with several advanced features, ensuring a smooth and accurate balancing process. The ProBalance technology allows precise measurement of both static and couple unbalances, ensuring no subjective trade-offs in performance. The direct drive system eliminates compromises, providing high precision. Additionally, a side shadow board is integrated for keeping essential tools handy, including collets, a spring pressure cup, a rubber lip, and a cone kit.
Step-by-Step Wheel Balancing Process
Preparing the Wheel
Before starting the balancing process, all existing wheel weights must be removed, and the rim should be thoroughly cleaned to eliminate dirt and debris. The technician must slide the spring down the shaft and attach the Nomar ring to the hub nut. The Nomar ring works in combination with the adjustable pin plates, which consolidate multiple plates into one convenient solution.
Selecting and Positioning the Wheel
To achieve an accurate balance, the technician selects the appropriate collet that fits the center hole of the wheel, sliding it onto the shaft and against the cone spring. The adjustable pin plate probes are positioned into the wheel’s lug holes, ensuring a secure fit. The hub nut is threaded onto the wheel assembly, and the speed thread technology is activated to quickly secure the nut, keeping the wheel centered.
Setting Weight Placement
The Direct Select feature allows for alternative weight placement locations on the wheel. The laser locator knob is adjusted to position the laser dot at the desired location. The A and D arm are placed on the wheel flange to determine the clip-on weight location, ensuring that the laser beam aligns accurately for precise weight placement.
Running the Balancing Process
Once the setup is complete, the hood is lowered to initiate the spin cycle. If the clip-to mode is chosen, the inboard flange is manually measured while the 3D sonar system captures the outboard measurement automatically. The wheel is then indexed to the correct weight location, and the twelve o’clock laser is activated to guide proper weight placement. The technician attaches the corrective weight at the designated spot and lowers the hood again to complete the process.
ProBalance Technology for No-Compromise Accuracy
ProBalance technology ensures that both static and couple unbalances are accounted for, leading to a precise balance. If a combined residual imbalance is detected, the ProBalance icon turns red, prompting the technician to activate the correction mode. The balancer automatically positions the wheel at the correction location, where the specified weight amount is attached at the twelve o’clock position. Lowering the hood once more verifies the balance, and a checkmark appears on the screen if the process has been completed correctly.
