80x Tire Changer Demo
The Coats 80X Rim Clamp Tire Changer is a powerhouse for high-volume, heavy-duty tire shops. Specifically built to tackle modern challenges associated with serving tires efficiently, the 80X Rim Clamp offers a streamlined approach for both mounting and demounting tires. Read and follow these steps to perfect your process for using an 80X Rim Clamp when changing a tire.
Step 1: Inspect the Wheel Assembly
Before starting, take the wheel assembly off the vehicle and inspect it properly:
- Damage: Look for cracks or bends and other structural issues.
- Remove Wheel Weights: All should be removed to avoid interference.
- Drain Air: Remove the service cap and the valve core to drain all the air from the tire.
Step 2: Break the Bead
The air-powered and hand-operated 80X bead loosener has an optical line-of-sight view with the tire and the wheel. Hence, this system keeps a technician alert for not scrapping costly customer rims.
- Position the bead loosener up against the tire.
- Break the bead gently in a full circle around it.
Step 3: Lock the Wheel to the Tabletop
- Open the Clamps: Pull up on the pedal to open the clamps.
- Position the Wheel: Place the assembly safely on the tabletop.
- Inspect the Clamps: The clamps should be in good condition and set properly so the wheel is not damaged.
High-end wheels should be clamped from the outside for additional safety. Pull the pedal down to secure the wheel.
Step 4: Lubricate the Tire Beads
Lubrication makes the process of demounting easy by minimizing friction:
- Lubricate the top bead.
- You will use the robo-roller arm for a finer action.
Step 5: Demount the Tire
- Place the Toolbar: Place the toolbar on top of the duck head and bottom of the bead.
- Use the Robo Arm: At 180ยฐ to the duck head, press the top bead into the drop center, which distributes the bead’s stress.
- Turn the Tabletop: Push the turning pedal to rotate the table and unclip the top bead.
- For challenging assemblies, the robo-roller helper can sustain force on the bead to stop it from rolling away from the duck head.
- Repeat for the bottom bead using the robo arm for heavier tires.
Step 6: Mount the New Tire
- Prepare the Parts: Lubricate the new tire’s beads and the wheel’s drop center and bead seat.
- Mount the Bottom Bead By mounting the bottom bead, you can Rotate the table with the help of the rotation pedal.
- Mount the Top Bead: Repeat for the top bead.
Using the robo arm and robo-roller helper, keep the tire over the drop center.
